Mr. Rene Awambeng is the Founder and Managing Partner of Premier Invest, bringing over twenty-five years of senior management experience in corporate and investment banking across global markets, including Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. His career has been defined by a deep commitment to corporate success, having generated over US$8 billion in revenues and managed US$300 billion in transactions across the energy, infrastructure, commodities, and financial advisory sectors.

Recognized as a leading expert on Africa’s banking, trade, and financial services landscapes, Mr. Awambeng has cultivated an extensive network that includes government officials, C-suite executives, and industry leaders. From 2016 to 2023, he served as Director & Global Head of Client Relations at the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), where he honed his expertise in structured trade, corporate and investment banking, product management, cross-border trade flows, and compliance.

Beyond his corporate pursuits, he is dedicated to social impact initiatives, notably through the Awambeng Renal Care Foundation, a non-profit providing critical support for kidney disease patients. He also serves on the boards of the African Sepsis Alliance and the Africa Energy Chamber. Additionally, as President of the SME Trade & Business Commonwealth Entrepreneurs Club, he actively promotes intra-African trade and infrastructure development.
