Dr Slim Feriani
CEO, Fonds Souverain de Djibouti (Djibouti Sovereign Wealth Fund)
Dr. Slim Feriani is the Chief Executive Officer of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Djibouti.
He was Minister of Industry, Energy, Mines, Renewable Energies and SMEs of Tunisia (2017-2020).
Dr. Feriani has worked in several financial services institutions in the UK, such as the investment bank Nomura International and the asset management companies Martin Currie Investment Management (acquired by Franklin Templeton), Advance Emerging Capital (acquired by Aberdeen Asset Management) and GCA Asset Management (later Gulf Central Merchant Bank).
Dr. Feriani has held senior positions, including Chairman, CEO and Chief Investment Officer, as well as board positions in both listed and private companies.
Highly multicultural, with dual British and Tunisian nationality, Dr. Feriani has lived and worked in the United States, the United Kingdom and Tunisia. He has covered and invested in around 90 countries and visited over 50 of them.
Fluent in English, French and Arabic, Dr. Feriani holds an MBA and a Ph.D. in Finance, Investment and International Finance from George Washington University in Washington D.C., where he lectured in these fields and served on the advisory board of his business school.
